Dungeon Mecha

Dungeon Mecha #1: Introduction

Biological/Cosmic Horror
Explore dungeons in converted mining rigs and cargo haulers

Think Roadside Picnic, S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Annihilation where a scientific anomaly can just fuck you up instantly but there are also pickup truck-sized aberrations that you can blow up with the mining rig that you attached a flamethrower and some missiles to.

Mythic Underworld
Everything can be explained with science but the science you know isn’t enough and You Don’t Belong Here. Sensors and systems are unreliable underground so pilots have to get out to investigate corpses of aberrations, record strange phenomena & collect potentially useful flora and fauna. They have to do this because Knowledge is Currency.

Like a ‘97 Corolla
Fix broken hardware in 10 minutes with a wrench and some elbow grease but that means you have to step into the dungeon to repair weapons/hardware or clear heat and then you might die because the air shimmers weird in this one area or what if an aberration senses you. So you probably only want to engage in combat if it results in Knowledge.

Appendix-N
Roadside Picnic, Annihilation (the book not the movie), S.T.A.L.K.E.R., sci-fi westerns, Nausicaa, Scavenger’s Reign, mecha anime in general, The Expanse, specifically the first scene, both Bastionlands, Cairn, Lancer, Salvage Union, Blades in the Dark, Cowboy Bebop, Oryx and Crake, Dungeon Meshi, d&d bestiaries from ~1980 and more that I can't think of right now.

I’m posting once a week until I have a complete game. *Next post coming soon!
